Pastor’s Reading Recommendations

Reading

John Piper points out that if you are a slow reader (250 words/minute) and you read 20 minutes a day, six days a week you will read the equivalent of 15 books a year.  (from his book, Brothers, We Are Not Professionals, page 66-67)

If you cannot find these books on Amazon or Barnes and Noble, you can order them on-line from Cumberland Valley Bible & Book Service located at cvbbs.com. This is an excellent resource for book purchases.

The Attributes of God

It certainly is true that A.W. Pink cannot be read "quickly,” but rich treasures are often mined slowly. This book will stretch your understanding of the character of God and will bring immense comfort to the soul. God will be "bigger" after reading this book. Published by Baker.

Don’t Waste Your Life

John Piper challenges every Christian to examine the ultimate purpose of why they were created. He shares that the wasted life is a life that is without the passion of displaying God's supreme excellence in every part of our life. This is an excellent study for every believer.
