Giving at Sycamore Hills Baptist Church

Characteristics of Christian giving:

  1. It should be done regularly: 1 Corinthians 16:2—On the first day of every week each one of you is to put aside and save, as he may prosper,

  2. It should be done with liberality: 2 Corinthians 9:6— Now this I say, he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.

  3. It should be done not under compulsion, but cheerfully: 2 Corinthians 9:7—Each one must do just as he has purposed in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

  4. It should be done discreetly: Matthew 6:1-4—1 “Beware of practicing your righteousness before men to be noticed by them; otherwise you have no reward with your Father who is in heaven. 2 “So when you give to the poor, do not sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, so that they may be honored by men. Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full. 3 But when you give to the poor, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 so that your giving will be in secret; and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.

Ways to Give

  1. Collections will be taken at both Sunday morning and Sunday evening services.

  2. You may mail a check to the church.

  3. Online giving is now available by credit card, debit card, or electronic transfer. This convenience allows you to give from anywhere you have internet and even on your phone through the Generosity App. We are using Generosity by LifeWay as our giving platform. You can even set up giving so that a set amount is automatically each week, two weeks, or month, so that you can truly give your “first fruits” from your income.

    Note:

If you give by credit or debit card, a 2.69% transaction fee plus a flat 30 cent fee is charged to the church for processing—you are offered the option of covering that fee if you want— but if you give by electronic transfer from your bank account, no transaction fee is charged to the church, just the 30 cent fee.
