Tony Pursley
Associate Pastor, Music and Education
Tony has been a pastor at SHBC since January 2017. His main areas of responsibility are music and education. His aim is to shepherd faithfully the flock of God by promoting a movement of the gospel that produces disciples who worship Christ biblically in all areas of life. The Bible verse that Tony aspires to in life and ministry is Acts 20:24 – But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify of the gospel of the grace of God.
Tony has nearly two decades of experience leading music in the local church, serving congregations in Kentucky prior to coming to SHBC. He also has an extensive performance background in southern gospel music, musical theater, and opera. His education includes a B.Ed. in music from Cumberland College and the M.Div. in Christian Worship from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Tony married Ruthanne on January 19, 2013. God has blessed them with five children: Cohen, Caitlin, Nora, Lydia, and Leo. A Cincinnati native, Tony is a life-long fan of the Reds and Bengals. He also follows Ohio State University football and University of Louisville Basketball and Baseball. Other interests and joys include listening to an eclectic variety of music, hymn writing, reading aloud to his children, and exploring ethnic cuisine with his wife.

Cha Rae Camp
Church Secretary
ChaRae has been serving in the office at SHBC since January 2017. She attended Truman State University and has enjoyed working in various office positions throughout her career.
She is involved in small group and volunteering in the nursery at her church. ChaRae has been married to Kerry for 36 years. They have two adult daughters and one son-in-law. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, spending time with family and friends, and cheering on the KC Chiefs.
